Math: The students seem to be really enjoying Daily Math. They seem to be more engaged and challenged. We have been working on our complements of 10 (5+5, 4+6, 3+7, etc.) and building upon them to answer harder problems.
Math Facts: Please continue to practice math facts with your student. I am not sure how else to stress the importance of knowing their facts without using fingers or any other tool to help.
Science: Our weather unit is in full swing. We discussed how the sun and the rotation of the earth gives us different weather patterns. The students are having an opportunity to be "mini-meteorologists" where they are able to pick a different city in the world and find out the weather there. If you have time at home, let your child watch the weather forecast every now and then!
Writing: The students are really loving the non-fiction writing unit. We have topics running from the WWE to penguins to family. The students have really taken off with organizing their writing and adding details. Some students have even gotten more books about their topic at the library!
Superstar of the Week: Our Superstar of the week this next week will be Sarea. We can't wait to learn more about her!!
Upcoming Important Dates:
