This upcoming Monday and Tuesday, we will have state testing (PARCC) again. We have been doing practice tests the past couple of weeks and the students have really hung in there. We will be taking our tests from 8:15-9:30 and 10:00-11:15 on Monday and 8:15-9:30 on Tuesday. If you need to drop off something for your child or plan to visit, please leave the item(s) in the office or come visit at a different time. I will not be allowed to let anyone into our classroom while the students are testing.
I have tried not to put too much emphasis or pressure onto these tests. The students know that the test does not define who they are and they are only going to do their best. We have discussed how the test may be tricky at times, but they are smarter than the test and will not succumb to the tricks. :)
During this week, please:
- Make sure your child gets a good night's rest.
- Have your child eat a healthy breakfast at home or in the cafeteria at school.
- Make sure your child arrives at school on time.
Because of testing, Monday they will only have 10 minutes of reading and practicing math facts for homework. Tuesday they will have reading, math facts, and a spelling practice sheet. Then the rest of the week will go back to normal. Thanks for all your support!
Have a great weekend!
